Restaurateur Mickey Krivosh to lead city's July 4 parade: Lakewood Postings
A familiar face will be leading the city’s annual Fourth of July parade this year.
Mickey Krivosh , owner of the popular Around the Corner tavern and restaurant, and new owner of Three Birds restaurant, both in Lakewood, was chosen as parade grand marshal.
The parade will step off at 10 a.m. July 4 from Kenneth Drive and Lake Avenue. Units will march east to Lakewood Park, where the parade will disband. (See story on page one for details on July 4 activities in Lakewood and other nearby cities.)
Krivosh, a 1970 Lakewood High School graduate, has been active in the city for many years. Lakewood Chamber of Commerce members know him for his work with the Taste of Lakewood event, the Halloween window painting contest, new teachers’ luncheon and other programs. In 2009, the chamber named him Business Man of the Year.
He has been a member of the Lakewood Kiwanis Club since 1974 and was active at St. James Parish until it was closed a year ago. Krivosh participated in the St. James Community Meals for eight years and now works with the St. Luke Community Meal Program.
He volunteered with the city schools, recreation department, YMCA and supports various non-profit organizations including H2O, Lakewood’s youth service organization, the Keep Lakewood Beautiful.
Krivosh and his wife, Patty , have two grown children, Ryan and Jennifer .

SCHOLARSHIP WINNER — Peter Barlow , a 2011 graduate of Lakewood High School, is the recipient of the Lakewood Arts Festival Scholarship this year.
Peter, the son of Debbie and Bob Barlow , plans to attend Ringling College of Art and Design in the fall to study digital film-making and production. He received a Presidential Scholarship from the college.

He was chosen to teach with Revolution Prep, an innovative test preparation company founded in 2002. Malave will be head instructor for Revolution’s Ivy Insiders classroom courses and tutoring programs.
