Majority PAC strikes back in Missouri
Majority PAC strikes back in MissouriMajority PAC is striking back in Missouri, POLITICO has learned.
The Democratic-aligned super PAC created by a cadre of longtime operatives is answering the American Crossroads radio campaign against first-term Democrat Claire McCaskill with a 60-second ad of its own.
The spot's focus is, not surprisingly, Medicare and it places the listener at the scene of a retirement party for "Eddie," before warning that the GOP plan will force him to "keep working a lot longer."
Listen to the spot and read the entire script HERE.
"The Wall Street Journal says the Republican plan will essentially end Medicare, ultimately forcing seniors to pay thousands more a year. But first, they have to get passed Claire McCaskill. She's fighting to protect Medicare and our seniors," says a female narrator.
The commercial, shared exclusively with POLITICO, also attempts to boost McCaskill's fiscal credentials -- which were taken to task by Crossroads -- by noting "she even voted against her own party's budget because it spent too much."
"No wonder Republican hitman Karl Rove and his billionaire backers are attacking McCaskill," it concludes. "If they win, Missouri can say goodbye to Medicare and retirement parties."
Majority PAC's Jim Jordan would only disclose that the size of the radio campaign is "proportional" to the $50,000 Crossroads buy that began last week. "It's an easy proportional response to a cheap bit of right-wing propaganda," Jordan said.
It seems the difference between the Democratic and the Republican party is that the Democrats own up and pay up. The Republicans change the laws so that they neither have to own up or pay up. The Republican's aid and abet a crooked elite, the Democrat elite support a moral society and submit to a moral standard defined by God. Your choice in the next election will be between the Godly and the ungodly.
I'm from SW MO and I'll be voting for Claire. She made a mistake on her taxes and she paid it....it's over. It happens millions of times a year with non-politicians but we always hold the politician to a higher standard. That's bull. Anyone can make a mistake, I doubt Roy Blunt would have paid it, he would still be arguing that he didn't owe it and WASN'T paying it -- that's the GOP way to do things. The bottom line for me as I near retirement is the GOP is going to end Medicare and our Social Security and they won't stop trying until we stop them. I have voted a split ticket before, never again. I'll vote Democrat from now on. It does matter. There really is no choice if we want to maintain ANY of our safety nets as seniors.

Gone are the days when 'qatibs' (calligraphers) diligently traced out the script on to transparencies and then the letters were inverted before printing them on a lithographic machine. Now it is done through desktop composing and printing,

The exchanges also include revised advertising budgets and the ad scripts. Until now, it appeared that only Cahill's political campaign staff had been involved in orchestrating the advertisements, sending several e-mails and a text message to Hill
A Radio Ad Script I'll Never Produce
THICKE: This is Ed Thicke.
DULL: And Ted Dull.
THICKE: With a message from the Monolith Brick Company.
DULL: About strong, hard, rectangular…
THICKE: Monolith Bricks.
DULL: Ladies, Monolith Bricks are sturdy and reliable.
THICKE: And now, with Monolith’s new expanded line of products, you can get them in your choice of two beautiful designer shapes: Wide or Tall.
DULL: Ed, I think the tall one is just a wide one standing on end.
SFX: CLUNK OF BRICK FALLING OVER ON ITS SIDE
THICKE: So it is. Well, I guess Monolith doesn’t offer all that much variety. But aren’t there lots of great cosmetic and housekeeping uses for these hard, lifeless objects, Ted?
DULL: Could be, Ed. But we don’t really have to get into all that.
THICKE: I guess that’s true. Tell ‘em why, Ted.
DULL: You see, ladies, the Monolith Brick Company has just placed such an obese media buy that it hardly matters what we say.
THICKE: We thought about just bluntly reading our marketing strategy at you—
DULL: But we don’t even have to do that, let alone capture your imagination or sell you on the benefits, till you stagger off and buy some.
DULL: And don’t even think about switching stations.
THICKE: No, we’re on every station right now.
DULL: And will be again every five minutes till we reach our sales goals.
THICKE: So you see, ladies, it’s sort of a blackmail situation.
DULL: And it’s truly in your own best interests to think up your own uses for Monolith Bricks.
