Ashton, and stepfather Al Ashton, both of Jasper; two brothers, Jeffrey Dysinger, Minneapolis, Minn., and Matthew Dysinger, Carthage; two sisters, Rebecca Kimbel and Jennifer Miller, both of Jackson; tow stepbrothers, Keith Ashton, Dadeville, and Kenneth Ashton, Clarksville, Tenn; two stepsisters, Kimberly Evans, Willard, and Kathy Tobin, Virginia Beach, Va.; her maternal grandmother, Nellie F. Blankenship, Carthage; and four grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Gerald “Pete” Schmidt, two daughters, Susan Johnson and husband Rick Bentonville, Ark., and Jenny Parker and husband Greg, Aurora; two brothers, Bill Hubbard, Aurora, and Sidney Hubbard, Houston, Texas; three sisters, Helen Murphy, Marionville, Betty Young, Memphis, Tenn., and Bonnie Owens, Aurora; and five grandchildren, Alisha, Brooke and Bailey Johnson and Logan and Olivia Parker. He was born Nov. 28, 1932, in Spokane to Carl and Rosella Schmidt. He served in the Air Force, retiring in 1970 to begin a career with the Spokane County Sheriff's Office, which lasted 22 years. After retiring for a second time, he and his high school sweetheart and wife, Shirley, traveled for several years. He loved to metal detect, travel, fish and enjoy life. While traveling they visited all 50 states before settling in Shelton, Wash. They moved ot Missouri in 2004. Those surviving him include his wife, Shirley Schmidt, Aurora; two sisters, Luella Kangus and Shirley Ann Schmidt, both of Spokane; two daughters, Debra Corey, Yakima, Wash., and Ramona Klewena, Chateroy, Wash.; two stepsons, Terry Schelin, Spokane, and Alan Schelin, Riverside, Calif; a special son, Curt and Adele Bolser, Olympia, Wash.; 11 grandchldren; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, including Jeannine and Rick Wilson of Verona, Ashley and David Romine of Ozark, Angela and Kevin Romine of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Heather and Jeff Romine of Mt. Vernon; and friends all over the country. Survivors include his daughter, Cindy Supiran and her husband, Ernie, of Webb City; fiancee' and best friend Wanda Bulow of Springfield; grandchildren Courtney Winn and her husband, Chris, of Springfield, Carrie Faucett of Bentonville, Ark.
