Plastic Surgeon Creates Highly Informative Website

Upper St. Clair, PA (PRWEB) June 14, 2011

Dr. Brian V. Heil of Premier Plastic Surgery is passionate about comprehensive patient education regarding all procedures the center offers, including the tummy tuck. Pittsburgh area patients who want to learn more about the procedure can do so on his website, which focuses on providing accurate education to patients about the procedure.

When asked about the need for such a resource, Dr. Heil said, “I feel strongly about providing each patient with valuable information about the procedure, risks, and potential benefits they can receive. While I know that a Pittsburgh tummy tuck can make many individuals feel better about themselves, I also know that patients who are not fully informed about what to expect may be surprised by some aspects of the surgery.”

For example, some patients are surprised to learn that the recovery is not the same for every person. According to Dr. Heil’s website, the more fat and tissue that is removed during the tummy tuck, the longer the recovery will be. “I usually recommend that patients take at least two weeks off of work,” stated Dr. Heil. “Any strenuous activities and exercise must be avoided for at least six weeks. Remember, this is major abdominal surgery and you will need some time to allow your body to recover.”

During a tummy tuck at Pittsburgh Premier Plastic Surgery, as the video shows, Dr. Heil will make an incision from one hip running to the next. The incision sits just above the pubic area, which is a site covered by most swimming suits. From that incision, fat and excess skin is removed. The navel is repositioned, and the muscle underneath the skin is tightened to produce a flat abdomen. Once this is achieved, the incision site is closed.

The procedure takes between one and five hours, depending on how extensive it is and if there are any unexpected complications. Mini tummy tucks with smaller incisions are also possible, and these take between one and two hours with less scarring.

The ideal patient to have a tummy tuck, according to Dr. Heil, is someone who has realistic expectations about the procedure, is at a healthy and stable weight, and has good overall health. Female patients should wait to have the procedure until they are done having babies to ensure that the results are not compromised with a subsequent pregnancy. Dr. Heil recommends this procedure to patients with excess skin and fat in the lower abdominal area but otherwise are at a healthy weight.

Summer Shape-Up and Breast Augmentation Surgery — Pittsburgh ...

As we get closer to the time of year when we are showing more skin and wearing less clothes, many men and women across the country are looking to plastic surgery. Pittsburgh patients should familiarize themselves with Premier Plastic Surgery and the extensive line of surgical and minimally-invasive procedures they offer. One of the most popular procedures as bikini season approaches is the breast augmentation. Pittsburgh ends up looking better all around!

Most patients looking for breast augmentation Pittsburgh have the same questions: What type of implant should I get? And how big is too big? Most women prefer silicone implants because they feel more natural than the saline version. With advances in technology, silicone implants are just as safe as saline and fully cleared by the FDA. When it comes to deciding on size, the biggest factor tends to be personal preference. However, there are a number of prosthetics and computer software options that can help ensure you choose the size that is right for your body shape and frame. Too often, women go too big and end up looking awkward. Occasionally, women decide to go too small and have to pay extensive revision fees to get the size they really wanted.

Keep all of these things in mind when considering breast augmentation. Pittsburgh women will be looking in tip top shape in their skimpiest bikinis this summer. Options for plastic surgery Pittsburgh are shaping the horizons of the beaches and boardwalks.
