SuperBikes Speed into Mid-Ohio to Kick Off Bike Month July 8-10

The featured Wiseco American SuperBike 100 Doubleheader is part of Round 6 of the AMA Pro Racing season. Former Mid-Ohio winners Josh Hayes, Tommy Hayden and Ben Bostrom look to compete for wins in the series' top class, National Guard American SuperBike. Supported by three other classes under the AMA Pro umbrella, fans will enjoy seven races over the weekend including additional doubleheaders from Daytona SportBike and SuperSport as well as an XR1200 class race on Sunday. The excitement isn't restricted to the races however, as Mid-Ohio hosts a number of activities for the fans such as a pair of Grid Walks. Fans with paddock passes are invited to visit Pit Lane as bikes and riders from every class will be on the grid prior to Saturday's SuperSport race and again before Sunday's XR1200 race. Additionally, the Infield will be home to a fireworks display on Saturday after dark and on Sunday morning, the track is turned over to the amateur motorcyclists for a few laps during the 21st annual Dealer Ride. Freestyle motocross tricksters Team FMX will be on hand, performing three 20-minute stunt shows each day of the weekend. The stunt shows are presented by Gorman-Rupp. Fans can expect non-stop excitement, on the track and off it, all three days. The championship races in the series’ top classes are heating up heading into the second half of the season. Hayes, who has won three out of the last four American SuperBike races at Mid-Ohio, carries a slim, two-point lead over Hayden heading into the weekend. Over in Daytona SportBike, Danny Eslick – who has also won three out of four at Mid-Ohio in his class – leads Josh Herrin by a scant four points. Each rider is looking to continue their recent success at the 15-turn, 2.4-mile track in an effort to extend his points lead on the season. Herrin, who won at Mid-Ohio in the Daytona SportBike class in 2010 is looking forward to getting back to the track for a number of reasons, “The track is really flowing, so it allows us to show how good my corner speed is, so that helps us out a lot. We’re usually pretty good with tracks that have a lot of blind corners and Mid-Ohio has a couple of them,” Herrin said. He is also anticipating spending quality time with the fans, “When I was younger, it was always a big thing for me to get autographs from the riders. So now, when I get a chance to interact with fans and give autographs and it’s awesome; especially to give it to kids, because it feels like I helped make the weekend that much better,” Herrin said. Weekend General Admission tickets start at $45 when ordered in advance, prior to Wednesday, July 6 at 5 p.m. ET. General parking is free and children 12 and under are also admitted free with a parent. Visit www.midohio.com anytime or call 800-MID-OHIO (643-6446) Monday through Friday from 8 a.m-5 p.m. to order tickets or for more information. Later in the month, Mid-Ohio hosts the AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days from July 22-24. A comprehensive motorsports facility, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course features a permanent road-racing circuit with two primary configurations: a 2.4-mile, 15 turn, and a 2.25- mile, 13-turn circuit. The park-like, 330-acre complex is located in Lexington, Ohio, near Mansfield, 60 miles north of Columbus and 75 miles south of Cleveland. The track has been called the most competitive course in the U.S. and annually hosts a diverse lineup of locally, regionally and nationally sanctioned racing events for amateur, club and professional drivers and riders. Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is celebrating its 50th Season in 2011 and is owned and operated by Green Savoree Mid-Ohio, LLC.

Danger untoward effects of streptomycin in anti-tuberculosis ...

Tuberculosis is chronic granulomatous disease of humans and other mammals caused by a group of closely related obligate pathogens, the mycobacterium tuberculosis complex, comprising M. tuberculosis, tubercle bacillus The human – M. bovis -. tubercle bacillus the bovine,-agricanum – a heterogeneous type found principally in Africa with properties intermediate between effuational the former two species and M microti-a rare cause of disease and other small mammals but Involves attenuated for humans Humans are the usual, but. not unique, host of M. tuberculosis. M. bovis causes disease in cattle and badgers in that is, deer, and other mammals. Humans are incidental hosts, usually by drinking contaminated milk acquiring infection although infection of farm workers may occur by aerogenous route. Human M. bovis to cattle may transmit human to human but is rarely reported (PDO awis D et al, 2003).

In developing countries much higher rates are found. The annual risk of infection for the Rich and Poor countries is shown in following table. In most industrialized countries the annual rate of infection is now below 0 to 1% and continues decline by 10% per annum. In Africa, the annual risk of infection may be much second as 5% or more, and in the present context of increasing tuberculosis notification due to HIB epidemic is increasing rather than decreasing.

In 1990, the commission on Health Research for Development stated that “the magnitude of tuberculosis problem is matched only by is relative neglect by the international community” A decade later ministers of 2000. Health and Finance from 20 countries that have 80% of world’s tuberculosis cases met in Amsterdam and issued the Amsterdam Declaration “. This stated that the global situation was both alarming and unacceptable” and that we commit ourselves to accelerate action against tuberculosis through expansion of coverage of population with the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended strategy to combat tuberculosis Direct observe treatment strategy (DOTS), providing for at least 70% detection of infectious cases by the year 2005 “(Philip C. Hopwell, 2002).

About 8 million people developed tuberculosis in 1990 and second 6 to second 9 million people died of it, mostly in Asia. It is estimated that one third of world’s population (1700 million) is infected with mycobacterium tuberculosis. The disease is not limited to Asia alone and its prevalence is increasing in developed countries that is where it linked to acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).
